It’s a vibe. The food was phenomenal and I can’t wait to come back to try their other dishes. We ordered the burrata/ prosciutto/pesto pizza and the wild mushroom pasta. The pasta was such a pleasant surprise, fresh pesto, with this rich sauce that was complimented by the morel mushrooms… chef’s kiss..oh and the pizza was incredible!

Overall vibe is awesome. Recommend getting a table upstairs! Acre has a fabulous selection of cocktails and wines. My go to was the Oak and Reed. Started off with the pullapart Rolls which were fresh, chewy, and paired with an incredible spiced butter. Can't miss the ceaser salad. Croutons were perfect. Star of the show was the Garlic Shrimp. They were tender, perfectly cooked, and smothered in a light flavorful garlic sauce. Do not, I repeat do not skip the bed of toast those shrimp are resting on. They soak up that sauce and are a true delicacy. Gnocchi and Lamb Sugo were also incredible. Overall elite dining experience. Highly recommend!

This new restaurant exceeded our expectations very well. Service was very friendly and the ambiance was beautiful. We liked all the decoration and details. We started our dinner with hummus and burrata. The hummus was served in a good size bowl with a special yogurt pita which is a unique style of Mediterranean special. As a person from Mediterranean it was great seeing a Chef decided to serve the hummus with unique flat bread instead of ‘regular pita’. It has more flavor and homemade. Well done!! We continued our dinner with steak tartare which is delicious and very fresh. Again, chef decided to serve it on pull man bread instead of chips which is more healthy and delicious way! Our entrees were ribeye and risotto. The ribeye cooking temp was correct and the risotto was very tasty with kumquat. They have a very nice bar if you want to sit and a good selection of drinks also with nonalcoholic cocktails. We gonna come back again!

We went there on my son’s birthday because it’s close to his school. Ended up it was an amazing restaurant with good vibes, excellent food and friendly staff. I loved my ribeye steak which was tender, juicy and tasty. I will come back for sure.

*** update have been back a few times solo, with friends, and business partners. Place is getting very lively with the beautiful sun lite upstairs for lunch. Food amd service continues to be outstanding. Usually don’t post my food photos but this lamb sausage pizza was amazing. Awesome restaurant in Rockridge. Great food with perfect execution. Came back a month later. Consistency and quality is the word. Perfect outdoor seating. Warm but with shade makes it so pleasant. Service friendly and professional. Location can’t be beat. Downstairs and outside for lunch and dinner. Upstairs very nice. Check out Tuesday 1/2 bottle wine and fried chicken special and Wednesday pre fix and live jazz!!!! Having such a good time forgot to take pics! All good will be back next week!

ACRE Kitchen & Bar is a sharply designed, well-run corner restaurant across from Rockridge BART. The interior—by Berkeley’s Doug Washington Design—is clean and deliberate: wide-plank oak, exposed beams, and tiled bar surfaces lit by firelight from both the hearth and outdoor heaters. The menu is wood-fired California-Mediterranean, with standout flatbreads, rotisserie meats, and grilled vegetables. That said, the experience depends entirely on timing. On Tuesdays, $1 oyster happy hour draws a wall-to-wall crowd from across the region. By 3:45, the line wraps around the block. These kinds of packed evenings are common here, driven by weekly promotions. Food and service are strong, but pricing trends high—especially relative to solid, less hectic options nearby. ACRE earns four stars: a stylish, capable restaurant that works best when it’s not overwhelmed by its own success.

I’d give this spot a solid 4.5 stars, so it’s better than the 4 Stars I’m giving it… As my wife and I explore the East Bay for our new “Go To” spots, this restaurant has been recommended numerous times, so with a night off from the kids we had our date night here. I was impressed with numerous things… the venue is so pleasant. The seating area upstairs has a cozy feel to it with really nice booths set up along the windows. The service staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was really good. The one gripe we had was that the salads were a bit overdressed, but this is something that can be remedied with a little instruction. Other than that, the meal was awesome! It was nice to be treated to some live music as well! Overall take is that we’ll be coming back, especially to try the prime rib night!

We had a good time here. The cocktails were tasty and the food was pretty ok. Wife liked her fish entree and the olives appetizer. I found my burger (and the bun) to be a little dry and not especially flavorful but not terrible. I enjoyed the ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, it was one of those surprisingly good combinations.
